After obsessively watching Ace of Cakes and Cake Boss, I decided to try it myself. My first cake was October 2009 where I made a birthday cake for my Aunt and Cousin. I did not take any classes, but gleaned as much information as I could from the tv shows.
This was my first cake.
After that, I experimented with different shapes and got used to working with fondant. I have just entered into a new realm with wedding cakes and successfully accomplished my first one just last month (September 2010).
